About

This workshop takes place on the 5th and 6th of September, and is a gathering of those who have worked with Chris Williams (Chris K.I. Williams, hence the title) over the years. Many distinguished guests have been invited and will be giving a series of research talks of their choosing. Rarely will we see so many excellent machine learning and computer vision researchers all gathered together in one place, and rarely is that one place Edinburgh! This provides a great opportunity to those in Edinburgh and around and the talks are open to all members of the School of Informatics and the wider community. Please do just put this in your diary and attend. If you are thinking of coming, please do quickly let us know on the CKIWFest Poll just to help us with numbers. However if you didn't sign up, then, subject to space, you are still welcome. The Edinburgh Festivals have ended. Time for CKIWFest!

Travel

Participants will need to make their own travel arrangements. By train the nearest station is Edinburgh Waverley, which is less than a 15 minute walk from the forum. See National Rail Enquiries for train information. For those coming from further afield, information about travel to and from Edinburgh Airport is available. A taxi to the city centre from the airport costs about 30GBP to 35GBP one way. There is an express bus from the airport called Airlink 100 that terminates in the city centre and costs 8GBP for a return journey (and a recent Bright Bus that does the same for a little less). The journey to the airport requires approximately 30 minutes from the city centre of actual journey time (add a little more during the rush hours). There is also a tram that goes to the centre of town. It takes a little longer than the bus, and is slightly more expensive.
